NFL "survivor" league is back

For the second year in a row, I have arranged for some of my favorite characters, their families and friends, and some people I've brought in from real life for a survivor pool based on results of National Football League games.

A reminder: There are 32 entries, one assigned to each of the league's teams.  In the first week, those matched with the winning teams stay alive, while those paired with the losing teams are eliminated.  After that, as long as a team wins, that contestants remains alive.  The last undefeated contestant will win a VIP trip to Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, CA on Feb. 7, 2016.  Last week, Deb Holmes won the contest and got to see the New England Patriots' win over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX.
